The 2010 Dental Assistant’s Course is currently taking registrations for the session beginning July 29th. The course is intended for assistants with little orthodontic training as well as a refresher course for the more experienced assistant.

The AGpO annual Dental Assistant’s Course, June 4-7, 2009.

The Academy sponsored its annual Dental Assistant’s Course with Dr.
Charles Young teaching 16 assistants. It was held from June 4-7, 2009 at
the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Dallas, Texas area. This year’s course
included three days of orthodontic staff training with an optional half-day
session on Sunday covering cephalometric tracing and model analysis. This
year the Academy added a session on intra-oral and extra-oral digital
photography taught by Dr. Tom Jacobsen.

Additions to the 2008 course:

* In response to this year’s course evaluations, Dr. Young is planning to incorporate along with the annual basic course, an advanced assistant’s course which will have a clinical hands-on component with pre-requisite requirements intended the more experienced assistant.

On July 19-22, 2007, The Academy sponsored its annual Dental Assistant’s Course with Dr. Charles Young teaching 17 AGpO members and their staff in Dallas, Texas.

New in the 2007 course:

* in response to 2006 assistant course evaluations, the course included an extra ½ day – Optional Session of cephalometric tracing and model analysis.
* course was free for all 2007 AGpO members attending with staff.
